Gary and I would like to thank you both for the work VanErt Builders did for us. WE LOVE IT. As you no Paul my main concern was that the finish in the basement be of the same style and quality that makes up the main floor in our home. You and Dave NAILED it. We have had several parties already and our friends and family are amazed at how you were able to make it look like is was part of the original house. Special thanks to Dave. My wife
and I did not want to build again. We had built a new home 38 years
ago, and found it to be a lengthy, less than satisfactory experience.
Therefore, for almost a year we looked in various areas of Menomonee
Falls, even placing a form letter in 21 mailboxes of homes that looked
like they might be of interest. All to no avail. We finally purchased
a lot, and decided to build once again. Van Ert Builders wanted to
be our contractor, but I wondered whether I really wanted "family"
to be involved. I was concerned about a "falling out" if
things went wrong. Finally, my wife convinced me to let Van Ert Builders
go ahead. I owe my wife a big hug, because it was a great experience.
The excavation started in mid February, 2007, and they entire process
took less than 7 months. We moved in on August 10, 2007, to a lovely
home. Dave and Paul were very helpful throughout. They had their supplier
draft plans, redraft plans, and redraft the redrafts, all at no cost
to us. Their subcontractors were timely and we were very impressed
with the quality of their work. It is now July, 2008. We expected
settling and shrinkage of frame lumber, both of which can cause cracks.
To date, there are no drywall cracks anywhere, no crack where moldings
are joined, and in fact, there are no items on our "punch list."
We enjoyed working with all the various subcontractors. Dave had many
good ideas throughout the building process, all which added to the
beauty of our new home. We love it, and in retrospect, should not
have been concerned about building again. We obtained a quality "Energy
Star" rated home at a very competitive price. Thank You Van Ert

recently had our basement finished by Van Ert Builders. It turned
out beautifully! Dave and Paul were wonderful to work with. We had
some ideas regarding our basement design and they listened. Dave came
up with a way to make our vision a reality. He also had great design
ideas of his own which we decided to incorporate into the project.
The final result is perfect. They are very skilled at crafting quality
projects in a cost effective manner.
